Sew Beautiful Magazine Giveaway

I just received my new preview issue of the magazine and it is fantastic! It is full of wonderful ideas and new techniques.

My Baby Romper #134, is featured in the magazine along with the free smocking design. The design is great for those who are new to picture smocking.

As chance would have it, I have ended up with two extra copies of the new issue that I would like to give away in a random drawing!

To enter the drawing for a free copy of the new Sew Beautiful Magazine
  • Leave a comment on this blog telling us "What new sewing technique would you like to learn or master this year?"

  • The drawing will end at midnight on June 20th.

  • The two lucky winners of the new Sew Beautiful Magazine will be announced Tuesday, June 22nd.

I love to smock & embroider, but have never been able to master fly-stitching. Being a lefty I have to turn everything around and just haven't been able to get that stitch!

I just found out I am having a little girl and I'm learning how to smock. I'd love to master smocking a bishop dress!

What a cute romper! I look forward to seeing this issue. The technique I want to learn this year is roll-whip-gather by hand. And I'd like to get better at featherstitch.

I'd like to actually make a bias tube! And to learn how to really put a zipper in a skirt (an invisible one!)

I'd like to master smocking to a level where it is comfortable to just pick it up and do it. I have done the back smocking on a project and need to move forward to the main event.

The give away is wonderful but you need not include me in that I subscribe and my issue will show up sooner or later.

With my first grandchild on the way, I'm trying to re-learn all those sewing techniques that I used to know. Not as easy to learn the second time around, but I'm getting there.

Ditto what Karen said! My boys are grown now and it's been a long time since they wore smocked outfits. I am starting to sew for the grandchildren I expect to follow sooner or later and am having to brush up on all those smocking skills again. And keeping my fingers crossed for a little girl.

My new grandson is going to need this romper next spring! I am trying to learn the double featherstitch to use it on his blessing gown.

Michie,

I was in your Feb SAF class and am still working on getting the ducks smocked correctly. A simple picture smocking pattern would be wonderful. :)

Aside from finishing my class projects, I am working on the christening gown for our new granddaughter due in Aug. I would love to do some beaded smocking on it but more practice needed!

I think the shell edging stitch is so pretty. I'd like to try it by machine and by hand and see if I can do it. I have all kind of instructions - it's just a matter of sitting down and deciding to try it.

Tatting is something that I have long to do for sometime now, once I think I scared the most precious little old lady in the doc's office because I got up and sat right next to her and starred loving at her while she was tatting I did mention to her that I would love to learn but there was no response like I wanted to hear just "oh you can do it sweetie" as she moved the shuttle so fast it was very hard to even see what she was doing.

I would like to learn how to modify a pattern to add faggoting. I also want to master a perfect placket.

I would like to master modifying patterns and even creating my own. Well, that and completing all of the sewing projects that I have started this year and need to complete. If only my 1 month old and 2 year old understood!

What a beautiful romper! I would like to teach my 11 (boy) and 13 (girl) to sew some this summer. I would like to have my son help make the pillow case, sheets and curtains for his new bedroom. :)
