The stiffest washable interfacing I could find, gave the purses enough body to stand up! In the photo, you can see the inside zippered pocket.
The first purse turned out so well that I immediately made a second. It is the same pattern, just a different layout of fabrics on the front.
I now have a turquoise and black print fabric cut out to make two more purses, and can hardly wait to see how they turn out. The hardest part of this project is going to be deciding which one to keep for myself!
Are you making any of your gifts this year? I would love to hear what you are working on!

Wow! Love those purses!!! Gorgeous combo of fabrics, and really cute style ;o)
I'm sewing a TON of Christmas gifts this year (and baking most of the rest of them lol), starting with a pettiskirt for my 5 year old diva, a backpack, car cozy, and tool belt for my 3 year old boy, a diaper bag and baby carrier for my best friend, and boxers for hubby :o)
How fun! You just gave me a "flashback." One year I made Superman capes for our 3 little guys!

That is too sweet!!! I'm actually using Spiderman fabric for my 3 year old's gifts. It was a toss up between him and Cars ;o)
I may have to do capes next year when the baby is big enough to try to be like his brother lol!
