The red and green floral print is a cotton Lawn from Fabric Finder's, the lace is an ecru antique lace from my stash and the pattern is adapted from #131.
I also redrafted the sleeves and added a sash to give achieve the vintage look.
This was such a fun project for me creatively, that each Friday in September I will be be sharing the steps for this little dress on the blog.

I love this special little touch of lace! I spent several hours this week looking through my vintage pattern stash. While there was only looking and no stitching, it was still delightful! Wishing you a restful holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely darling! I have several vintage smocked dress patterns too - so much fun to recreate! Thanks fro sharing your's!

ReplyDeleteI love the vintage look too! I'm looking forward to see how you redrafted the sleeve. I just love that sleeve!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is: CUTENESS!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so adorable. I may just have to make it for my little granddaughter! Love your directions.
ReplyDeleteLove the details on that adorable vintage pattern! What a great recreation you've done.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today and coincidently I was going through patterns with my pregnant daughter this morning, and I came across 3 copies of this very same pattern! I was born in 1960, the same year as this pattern was copyrighted, but I don't ever recall my mom having the patience to do smocking so I have no idea why she would have had 3 of these! it looks beautiful done up and I might just have to make one for my new granddaughter-to-be. Thanks for sharing, Terri in BC
